Let's Declutter and Organize It! (Part 1)

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

I've come up with this series, Let's Declutter and Organize It! There are several parts to it in that it will cover all major rooms within the home. This is Part 1 which covers the kitchen.

The kitchen can be a messy place and it doesn't take any time at all to become cluttered. Especially if you have a spouse like I do that enjoys collecting small appliances. I mean, after you get too many, where are you going to put them, am I right? So, it's time to organize!

In order to free up some cupboard space, I started with this Pan and Pot Lid Organizer I found on Amazon. See it below and feel free to click on it if you'd like to purchase it.

The next thing I decided to do was to get an Over the Cabinet Door Organizer, which is also pictured below and can be purchased from Amazon as well. In fact, everything I bought was from Amazon.

These handy, dandy things hold my cookie sheets and muffin pans. Although, I will probably get another one at some point, for now, I only bought one since we're living on a budget.

I also bought a lid organizer because I'm tired of having my lids slide from side to side and then out of the cupboard when its opened. They come in medium and large, but I just went ahead and bought the large one. Go whole hog or none, I always say.

Another thing I bought to organize and declutter my kitchen was a plastic bag storage rack.

I always reuse my plastic grocery bags for the trash cans and the cat's litter box, so I needed somewhere to store them that would look a little nicer. This worked out perfectly. I have it hanging on the inside of my pantry door. Looks great!

While I was organizing the pantry, I decided to look into getting something to organize my wraps and sandwich bags, freezer bags, etc. So, I searched Amazon's site and found this cool Kitchen Wrap Organizer Rack. It works great and it freed up more of my pantry shelf space.

I live in an older home, so there is a small cupboard that was once used for an ironing table. The fold-up table is no longer in it and so we put small shelves inside so I could use it for a spice rack. It's now a very functional space and it gets all of my spices out of the pantry. However, if you are in need of a rack for your spices, here's a nice one.

The last thing that I bought to declutter and organize my kitchen was a Refrigerator Side Storage Rack. It adds some additional storage space to the kitchen that we never had before. It's handy and functional! I love it! There is also the option of simply sitting it on the floor if you don't want it to hang on the side of your fridge.

All of these things will help you to declutter and organize your kitchen which will ultimately give you more space within your cupboards and pantry. Best of all, if you're on a budget, the good news is that you can do it all for less than $150. So, you go, girl! Get organized!
